Family Room Theatre
It was great to meet you and your family at this year's Aurora Active Living Fair. Here are some theatrical ways to use those Creative Cards in your very own Family Room!
And don't forget to scroll to the bottom for the answers to the worksheets.

Charades
Charades is an age-old acting game where the actor uses gestures, and not words, to get their audience to guess what they are acting out. Choose one of the Creativity Cards and stand in front of your audience. Act out what you see on your card and see if the audience can guess what it is!

Reverse Charades
The same game, just in reverse! The audience chooses a Creativity Card and acts out what they see while one person tries to guess what everyone is acting out. This is a great game for family parties!

Two-Headed Professor
In "Two-Headed Professor," two people work together as one mind to tell the audience all that they know about a specific topic. In this case chose a card from your pile of Creativity Cards. Each actor takes a turn saying one word as the Professor schools the audience on their topic. For example, socks!
Actor 1: Socks Actor 2: are Actor 1: my Actor 2: favourite Actor 1: thing Actor 2: to Actor 1: wear.
Actor 2: Socks Actor 1: keep Actor 2: me Actor 1: warm Actor 2: but Actor 1: remember Actor 2: to Actor 1: wash Actor 2: them!
And so on...

Create a Story
Place your Creativity Cards in a hat, or bowl, or box, in the middle of your table. Each actor takes a turn choosing a card and adds a sentence to the story, using the card as inspiration.

Act it Out!
After you create your own story, you can turn it into a play. The actors can write their own lines, create their own characters, rehearse, add props and costume pieces, and perform it as a play for family and friends!

Make Your Own!
Grab some Index Cards from the Dollar Store, or cut up some pieces of paper. Draw pictures on each one to make your own Creativity Cards and use them to play Charades, Two-Headed Professor, Create a Story or Act out a Skit. When you use your imagination, the possibilites are infinite!
