This lively, exciting and instructional 25-week theatre production program will educate and challenge young people with an interest in the performing arts. Participants will learn and hone many acting techniques as they work on character development, scene study and thematic analysis in preparation for their final performance. At the same time, participants will develop new and significant relationships as we collaborate to develop a cohesive theatrical ensemble.
We are thrilled to announce this year’s project, Peter Pan, based on J. M. Barrie’s endearing classic. When Peter Pan flies in through the window of the Darling children’s nursery in search of his lost shadow, he meets Wendy and her two brothers and fly off to the magical island of the Neverland. Together they embark on a series of exciting adventures with the other inhabitants of the island: the mischievous fairy Tinker Bell; the brave Wood Sprites who become friends with Peter and his gang after their dramatic rescue of Tiger Lily from the Mermaids; the Pirates on Jolly Roger and their leader, the notorious Captain Hook, whose destiny lies in the hands of a crowing boy and a ticking crocodile.
Acting, comedy, drama, song and dance are all part of the training the young actors will receive from our professional staff of directors, choreographers and voice instructors in preparation for their final performances of their full-scale production - including professionally designed and built sets, props and costumes - at a local theatre in the Spring of 2020.
Kids Get Staged is offered on Thursday evenings or Saturday afternoons. See our Fall 2019 Schedule
