Year Round Production Programs for 8 to 18 year olds
These 25 week theatre programs begin in the fall of each year and run through until the spring of the next year, ending in a full-scale production at a local theatre. No previous experience is necessary. All costumes and materials are provided.
Kids Get Staged
This lively, exciting and instructional year-round theatre production program will educate and challenge young people with an interest in the performing arts. Participants will learn and hone many acting techniques as they work on character development, scene study and thematic analysis in preparation for their final performance. At the same time, participants will develop new and significant relationships as we collaborate to develop a cohesive theatrical ensemble.
We are thrilled to announce this year’s project, The Wizard of Oz, based on L. Frank Baum’s endearing classic. Join Dorothy Gale and her little dog, Toto, as they are swept away to the Land of Oz by a Kansas cyclone. Wearing the magic slippers she earned quite unexpectedly, Dorothy bravely goes in search of the mighty Wizard of Oz in the hope that he can help her find a way back home. On the way, she picks up some delightful new friends: the Scarecrow seeking brains, the Cowardly Lion who wants courage and the Tin Man who desires a heart above everything. This magical adventure celebrates the importance of mind and heart, the courage in facing what is feared and the need to dream, to dare and to ride out storms.
Acting, comedy, drama, song and dance are all part of the training the young actors will receive from our professional staff of directors, choreographers and voice instructors in preparation for their final performances of their full-scale production - including professionally designed and built sets, props and costumes - at a local theatre in the Spring of 2022 (dependent on favourable provincial and local COVID-19 protocols).

Show Time for Teens

Past performances include: The Drowsy Chaperone, The Pink Panther, Alice in Wonderland, Clue, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, Marx Brothers Plays, You Can’t Take It With You and many others.
